Every journey has a humble beginning. Vizhigalile holds a very special place in my heart as my debut musical album, born in 2010 during my early days as a Capuchin. Driven purely by grace and divine inspiration rather than formal classical training, these hymns first took shape in the seminary. Later, during my summer holidays, we breathed new life into these 15 songs with the heartfelt voices of the Malayadipatty parish choir and a simple keyboard. Released on the joyous occasion of the 125th anniversary of the St. Francis Xavier church renovation, this album was recorded with minimal resources but boundless passion—giving me the foundational confidence to walk this beautiful musical path.

ஒவ்வொரு பயணத்திற்கும் ஒரு தொடக்கம் உண்டு. 2010 ஆம் ஆண்டில், நான் கப்புச்சின் சபையில் இணைந்த ஆரம்ப நாட்களில் உருவான எனது முதல் இசை ஆல்பமான 'விழிகளிலே', என் இதயத்திற்கு மிகவும் நெருக்கமானது. முறையான இசைப் பயிற்சி இல்லாவிட்டாலும், இறைவனின் அருளாலும் தூண்டுதலாலும் இப்பாடல்கள் முதலில் குருத்துவ மடத்தில் கருவாகின. பின்னர் கோடை விடுமுறையில், மலையடிப்பட்டி பங்குப் பாடகர் குழுவினரின் அன்பான குரல்களோடும், ஒரு சாதாரண கீபோர்டு இசையோடும் இந்த 15 பாடல்களுக்கு நாங்கள் புத்துயிர் அளித்தோம். புனித சவேரியார் ஆலயத்தின் 125-வது ஆண்டு புதுப்பித்தல் விழாவில் வெளியிடப்பட்ட இந்த ஆல்பம், குறைந்த வசதிகளுடன் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தாலும், எனது இசைப் பயணத்திற்கு மாபெரும் அடித்தளமாகவும் நம்பிக்கையாகவும் அமைந்தது.

Every sacred milestone has its hidden season of quietude. Anbanay holds a deeply reverent place in my memory as an archival testament to my novitiate—a profound time entirely set apart for prayer, silence, and interior reflection. Driven by an unexpected wave of inner lyrical and musical inspiration rather than formal classical training, a significant body of sacred compositions, numbering well over thirty, took form in the quiet of the seminary.

This album is a curated collection representing just one set of these songs. For this specific collection, original Franciscan hymns were lovingly translated into Tamil and given a structured lyrical form. This period also marked the very initiation of my journey into Classical Carnatic music, where various traditional ragas were mindfully explored and woven into these particular pieces.

Later, these hymns were taught to a grand choir of 60 formees—both brothers and sisters—filling the Holy Week services with collective prayer. To preserve the raw, prayerful energy of that moment, the entire album was recorded without a single line of digital programming, captured using only a basic keyboard and the unfiltered voices of the brothers. Officially released on the joyous milestone of my First Profession on May 9, 2013, this CD archive stands as one beautifully preserved chapter, remaining a foundational pillar that gave me the baseline confidence to walk this musical path.

ஒவ்வொரு புனித மைல்கல்லுக்கும் ஒரு மறைவான அமைதியின் காலமுண்டு. நவசிததி (Novitiate) காலம் — செபத்திற்கும், ஆழமான தியானத்திற்கும் என முற்றிலும் ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட அந்தப் புனிதமான நாட்களில் உருவான ஒரு முக்கிய திருப்புமுனையாக இந்த 'அன்பனே' தொகுப்பு என் நினைவுகளில் வாழ்கிறது. முறையான இசைப் பயிற்சி இல்லாவிட்டாலும், ஆழமான ஆன்மீகத் தூண்டுதலால், முப்பத்திற்கும் மேற்பட்ட புனிதப்பாடல்கள் மடத்து அறைக்குள் கருவாக்கப்பட்டன.

இந்த ஆல்பம், அந்தப் படைப்புப் பெருக்கத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியை மட்டுமே பிரதிபலிக்கும் ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட தொகுப்பாகும். இத்தொகுப்பிற்காக, அசல் பிரான்சிஸ்கன் பாடல்கள் தமிழில் மொழிபெயர்க்கப்பட்டு, சமூக வழிபாட்டிற்கு உகந்த பாடல்களாக அவற்றுக்கு வடிவம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது. என் கர்நாடக சங்கீதப் பயணத்தின் தொடக்கப் புள்ளியாக அமைந்த இப்பாடல்களில், பல்வேறு பாரம்பரிய ராகங்கள் முதன்முறையாகக் கையாளப்பட்டன.

பின்னர், உடன் பயின்ற சகோதர, சகோதரிகள் அடங்கிய 60 பேர் கொண்ட ஒரு மாபெரும் பாடகர் குழுவிற்கு இப்பாடல்கள் கற்பிக்கப்பட்டு, புனித வார வழிபாடுகளில் பக்திப்பரவசத்தோடு ஒலிக்கச் செய்யப்பட்டன. அந்தத் தூய்மையான கூட்டுப் பிரார்த்தனையின் குரல்களை அப்படியே ஆவணப்படுத்தும் நோக்குடன், எந்தவொரு கணினி மென்பொருள் நிரலாக்கமும் (Programming) இல்லாமல், வெறும் ஒரு எளிய கீபோர்டு மற்றும் சகோதரர்களின் தூய்மையான குரல்களை மட்டுமே கொண்டு இத்தொகுப்பு பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டது. குறுந்தகடுகளாக (CDs) அச்சிடப்பட்டு, 09-05-2013 அன்று எனது முதல் அர்ப்பணத்தின் (First Profession) போது அன்பளிப்பாக வெளியிடப்பட்ட இந்த ஆல்பம், என் இசைப் பயணத்தின் நீள அகலங்களைத் தீர்மானித்த மாபெரும் அடித்தளமாகவும் நம்பிக்கையாகவும் நிலைத்திருக்கும்.
